The End of Time is a two part special with the first episode broadcasting on the 25th of December 2009. It will be the first time since it's revival as the only episode to have both it's episodes with the same name, followed by either "Part One" or "Part Two". This shall be the last episode featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and will be replaced by Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, it's also the last episode that writer Russell T. Davies shall write - Davies was the man whom has revived the series in 2005 - and the show will now be written by award winning writer Stephen Moffat who has previously helped to write previous episodes.

This episode will end Tennant's Doctor Who career with a bang, which re-appearances of characters such as Donna Noble, Wilfred Mott, The Master, Captain Jack Harkness, Sarah Jane Smith, Rose Tyler, Jackie Tyler, Lucy Saxon, The Narrator, Sylvia Noble and other familiar faces.

The Master is reborn on Christmas Eve whilst a fierce battle rages throughout the wastelands of London and the ominous "Immortality Gate". In the mean while the Ood warn of a great evil that threatens the entire universe.

The plans of the The Master are starting to get out of hand the the sound of drums get louder as an ancient trap entombs the Earth. The Doctor is staring death straight in the face and it's up to him and Wilfred to fight against the prophecy:
"He will knock four times".
